Does your club / team need that special place to get away from all distractions and focus on key parts of your game plan while providing an excellent opportunity for team building? Well Clare Island is just the location for you whether you are a GAA Club, Soccer Club or any other type of club.
Being an island, the sense of bonding begins the minute your team steps onto the ferry at Roonagh Harbour to cross Clew Bay to Clare Island.
Clare Island is unique among all of Ireland’s islands in that its topography and varied landscapes provide for every level of competitive training activity, from climbing Knockmore Mountain at 1520 feet to running through tracks of undulating hills and loops giving good interval workouts.
The Training Pitch – Clare Island is proud of its football pitch which has a good footing and plenty of space. It is available to teams and clubs for training sessions.
Adventure Activities provide a wonderful platform for teams to bond with each other and have fun along the way. A strong team spirit is vital to success, and adventure activities will also challenge your players in new ways, both mentally and physically. Adventure activity is not part of the standard package. See rates below. Options include;
The Beach – just 200m from the training pitch. Use it to soak your team’s fatigued muscles immediately after pitch-based training. This will help with recovery and to avoid injury.
Accommodation – Go Explore Hostel has just been renovated to one of Ireland’s best. We can cater for up to 42 people in all en-suite bedrooms.
Food & Entertainment – our hostel is also home to the popular Sailor’s Bar where we serve a wide variety of dishes to suit your team’s needs. We can cater for high carb & protein menus for post training dinner and many more options. We will also organise entertainment for your team so they can let loose and wind down after a hard day’s training.
Ferry – Clare Island Ferry Company operates a year round service to the island with two large 96 passenger vessels so access is no problem.
