Transition Year Activities
Transition Year co-ordinators, are you on the lookout for something fun and memorable to fulfill the activity-based learning aspect of your curriculum? We can easily meet that requirement, while offering your transition year an outing that will also promote bonding amongst the group.
Whether you’re looking for tame or extreme adventure, or something in between, we can cater for your needs with a great selection of activities to choose from. After your morning ferry crossing, choose from archery or a beach challenge. And after lunch, choose between a guided hike of the island (introducing your students to the abundant flora and fauna), snorkelling, or a more comfort-zone-stretching session of coasteering or you could also opt for the Clare Island Challenge – a 7km orienteering course.

Activity-based learning should be fun, even if it is a little bit challenging. Our expert instructors are super-friendly, with a calming demeanour. So your TY students will be challenged without being terrified. And you can relax in the knowledge that they’re in very safe hands.
We can accommodate up to 42 students and teachers in the hostel, which was renovated in 2012 to a very high standard and boasts the most amazing views across Clew Bay. You can enjoy these views while having your meals in the Sailor’s Bar and also while relaxing in the common room in the evening.
If you’re looking to organise Transition Year activities, get in touch to discuss your group size and requirements and we’ll work with you to tailor a package to suit.
