Hens & Stags 2020

What makes for a great AND memorable hen or stag weekend?

  • The craic?
  • Adventure?
  • Good food & entertainment?
  • A unique and memorable location?

We believe that a combination of all of the above is the perfect recipe for a great hen or stag party. And we have it all in abundance and at affordable prices.

And the icing on the cake? It’s our island setting which has to be experienced first hand to be appreciated. And when you visit once, you’ll want to return.

The Island

Clare Island offers you a unique location for your hen or stag adventure. Every weekend, it see hundreds of people visit for the lively music, dancing and craic between the bars. Clare Island has a thriving community that enjoys the company of the visitors throughout the season, and local gladly participate in the late night sessions.

Only 25 minutes past Westport town, the harbour of Roonagh Pier services the island. The ferry ride is just 20 minutes with the O’Grady brothers on Clare Island Ferry Company. Go Explore Hostel will pick up your luggage from the pier. All you have to do is enjoy our stunningly beautiful island.

Adventure

Our hen and stag packages come with an outdoor activity built-in. We have a selection of land-based and water-based options to choose from. Some are also team-based, whereby the larger group is broken down into smaller teams of four to six people. This can be helpful in bonding a group of people who don’t all know each other well. A group who arrive as strangers with a friend in common, often leave as friends.

Food

Sailors Bar is well know for its delicious food and great atmosphere. We are changing our menu for 2020 and will have it on line in the coming months. If you have any specific queries in the mean time then please just ask.

Entertainment

There’s live music every weekend, and guests who sing or play instruments are always welcome to join in.  But that’s strictly optional – we find most of our hen and stag parties prefer to kick back, relax and enjoy the craic.  And we recommend that too – after all, that’s a recipe for the perfect hen or stag weekend.
